Mirror Reader Data Deletion and Account Deletion
Effective Date: July 16, 2026
App: Mirror Reader Website: https://www.mirrorreader.com Contact: [email protected]
This page explains how to delete a Mirror Reader guest or registered cloud account and the active data associated with it.
Delete an account in the app
- Open Mirror Reader.
- Open Profile.
- Open the account and security controls.
- Choose Delete Account or Delete Guest Account.
- Review the notice.
- Type the required confirmation word and confirm.
If you cannot access the app, email [email protected] from the address associated with the account where possible.
What active data is deleted
The deletion request removes the authentication account and active Mirror Reader records tied to that account, including:
- profile, email, authentication metadata, and guest identity links;
- reading progress, bookmarks, annotations, library state, settings, vocabulary, and assessments;
- support and reader-error reports tied to the account;
- subscription entitlement mirrors and user-specific quota or limit overrides;
- user-provided texts, including uploaded files, extracted text, processed packages, covers, and generated translations;
- text preparation and translation jobs, batches, and related stored objects;
- generated language layers, alignments, and progress for texts owned by the account;
- user-linked source/translation fragment caches and alignment caches;
- user-linked AI prompts, model responses, usage records, and sync-event payloads;
- user-specific content licenses, download events, device integrity rows, security events, and rate-limit identity links; and
- Sign in with Apple refresh authorization stored by Mirror Reader, which we attempt to revoke before deletion.
If an account created content in a shared catalog that must remain available, Mirror Reader removes the deleted user identifier from that shared content rather than deleting the shared catalog item.
The app also clears app-managed session and synchronized account state on the current device. Deleting the app is the strongest way to remove any remaining operating-system-managed local cache from that device.
User-provided texts and AI providers
A user-provided text can be a book, document, article, note, study material, or other supported text. Deleting a text removes its active Mirror Reader cloud package and generated layers. Deleting the account removes all texts owned by that account.
Mirror Reader may have sent text fragments through an AI routing intermediary to a routed model provider when the user requested preparation or translation. Provider rules differ. Deleting a Mirror Reader account does not guarantee deletion of a copy independently retained by an intermediary or model provider under its own policy.
Mirror Reader does not claim that every model request is ZDR-enforced.
Pronunciation audio
Pronunciation recordings are transient. Mirror Reader's backend, the third-party cloud speech-analysis provider, and the Mirror Reader-operated phonetic-analysis service do not retain audio after the request under the current configuration. A temporary file on the iPhone is removed when the result closes or is replaced. There is therefore no pronunciation-audio history to delete from the cloud account.
Apple subscription billing
Deleting a Mirror Reader account does not cancel Premium or Creator billing through Apple. Manage or cancel the subscription in Apple's subscription settings. Apple controls Apple Account, purchase, refund, subscription, and payment records, and Mirror Reader cannot delete them.
Limited records that may remain
Mirror Reader may retain only what is reasonably required or permitted for security, legal, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or App Store transaction obligations. This can include:
- a minimal administrator deletion audit with internal account ID, deletion time, status, and deletion counts, but not the deleted profile or uploaded text;
- records required to validate or reconcile Apple transactions;
- short-lived infrastructure, security, and backup copies until their normal expiry or overwrite; and
- aggregated or de-identified statistics that no longer identify the account.
Provider-side retention is governed by the applicable provider's policy. Apple retains its own records under Apple's policies.
Timing and consequences
Active Mirror Reader data is normally deleted when the confirmed request succeeds. A failed request returns an error so it can be retried; the app should not report completion when the backend did not complete deletion. Limited backups, provider records, or legally required records can take longer or remain where permitted.
Deletion is intended to be permanent. Deleted progress, saved words, uploaded texts, generated translations, and other account data may not be recoverable. A new account will not automatically restore the deleted account's history.
Deleting the app alone is not the same as deleting the cloud account, and neither action cancels an Apple subscription.
